FRANCINE MAYRAN, born in Strasbourg in 1958, divides her life between her profession as a psychiatrist and her passion for painting. She is a member of the AIDA, the Alsace independent artists association.
Today, Francine Mayran expresses herself through both COLOUR and MATERIAL with canvases and ceramic sculpture.


In her last work "Passive witnesses, guilty witnesses?" held in 2008 at the CONSEIL R�GIONAL D'ALSACE (Regional Council of Alsace) in Strasbourg, she explores THE INDELIBLE TRACES OF THE HOLOCAUST in 70 highly evocative PAINTINGS that are accompanied by TEXTS.
With her work, she wants to extend the survivors memory work, and to pay homage to all these men, women and children gone up in smoke.

In 2010,2 exhibitions are already announced:

-At the COUNCIL of EUROPE � STRASBOURG, in january 2010.

- At the GLOBAL PEACE CENTER in VERDUN, from February 2010 until June 2010

-At the EUROPEAN CENTER OF RESISTANT PRISONER at the STRUTHOF CAMP, from September until end December 2010

Her book with her paintings and her texts english and german translated " THE SHOAH AND ITS SHADOW" is published by the art editor Arthenon in September 2009.
